Organizational Development

The organizational development ambition is limited to what is required to deliver efficient, responsible, sensitive and impactful programming. Thus, we understand the institutional matters to be in service of the organizational vision, and this is one of the founding principles of NCPDO. Thus, the organization needs to have its internal systems built around this principle and to this ambition. To model the values we commit to, the organization will deploy a specific strand of activities focused on organizational development that maximizes learning and provides its constituents and community with an efficient, responsive platform able to facilitate meaningful actions in service of social change. We aim to achieve the following outcomes by the end of 2023: (1) NCPDO adopts a 3-year strategic plan (2024-2026) that builds on its unique insights into the national context, unique identity and some programmatic successes from this first phase, and (2) a core institutional set-up is built around programmatic ambitions in a way that models the organization’s values and provides a system of internal accountability - having a functional and diverse Assembly of Members and Governing Board, with at least 3 functional thematic or operational committees, a core team of at least 5 full-time programs and operations staff, successful financial and organizational audits conducted at least two years in a row (in 2022 and 2023) showing no irregularities, an operational MERL system is in place that informs its programming, and the prerequisites for integration of management-by-objectives system starting from January 2024, with the next strategic period
